Theatre, Film and TV Awards announced

The winners of Theatre Awards were announced on Sunday 19th February during a concert at the Prince of Wales Theatre hosted by Sheridan Smith.

Ben Brown won The Nick Hern Books Best New Play for Three Days in Maywhich is still on at Trafalgar Studios 1 with Warren Clark in the lead role as Winston Churchill.  Ben fought off competition from Mike Leigh for Grief and Richard Bean for The Heretic.

Alecky Blythe's London Road, directed by Rufus Norris also picked up an award for The Les Miserables Best Ensemble Performance, but was pipped to the post by Matilda the Musical for The See Tickets Best New Musical.  London Road stars Rosalie Craig and Kate Fleetwood as residents of Ipswich during the time of the murders of 2006.

The Seatlive Best Takeover in a Role went to Alfie Boe for Les Miserables at the Queens.
