Norman Lebrecht is a renowned modern commentator on music, culture and politics. His weekly column in the Evening Standard has been described as ‘required reading' and his BBC Radio 3 show, Lebrecht Live, attracts listeners from Buenos Aires to Budapest.
He has written 12 books on music the most recent of which, a biography of Gustav Mahler, will be published in autumn 2010 and will coincide with a year-long series of events celebrating Mahler on London's South Bank, which Norman has curated.
His first novel, The Song of Names, was the recipient of the 2003 Whitbread Award and a film adaptation is currently underway with Dustin Hoffman and Anthony Hopkins signed up to star.
