The House of Bernarda Alba

Producer The Almeida Director Bijan Sheibani Starring Shohreh Aghdashloo

Originally written by Spanish playwright Federico Garcia Lorca, Emily Mann’s new translation of The House of Bernarda Alba sets the play in Iran.

When her husband dies, Bernarda decides to impose a state of mourning on her daughters for eight years, confining them to their large house.

Pandora plays Asieh, one of Bernarda's five daughters, who become increasingly isolated both from the world and from one another under the powerful, domineering matriarch's rule.

"Of the daughters, it's Pandora Colin who stands out as the dowdy eldest, an awkward and fragile woman in her late thirties."
