Tony was born in Greater London on 6th November 1953, the only child of working class parents.  For the first five years of his life, they lived in a rented flat above a shop in Romford and then moved out to Billericay, Essex, where Tony grew up.

Tony went to grammar school but dropped out when he was 16 and found a job in a factory making Gordon's Gin, where he developed an acute gin allergy and wrote his first novel, The kids.  The Kids was published in 1976 and landed Tony his first job as a writer on Nick Logan's New Music Express, where he spent the next three years writing about bands such as The Clash, The Sex Pistols, Blondie, The Stranglers, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and The Buzzcocks.

After ten years of scraping a living things started to pick up.  Tony began making documentaries for channel 4 - The Tattooed Jungle, about the decline of the working class, was the most noticed.  He became a regular guest on BBCs's Late Review and appeared on the late-night panel show for six years.  He was also hired by Piers Morgan to be a weekly columnist on the Daily Mirror.

Tony Parson remains one of the most recognisable writers in the country.
