Jay Rayner is an award-winning writer, journalist and broadcaster. His broadcasting work as a presenter for the BBC has brought him two Sony radio award nominations and a Sony gold, as anchor of Papertalk, a programme about the British newspaper business. He has also been nominated in the Commission for Racial Equality's Race in the Media Awards, for his reporting of race crime in Britain, and for the Mental Health Media awards, for his work on mental health issues.

In June 2008, he wrote and presented a documentary for Dispatches: The Truth About Food Prices (Channel 4), which was watched by 2.2 million people. Read his accompanying piece in The Observer here and What Price Cheap Food which rated even higher.

2009 sees Jay contribute regularly to several BBC shows including Celebrity Masterchef, Masterchef the Professionals and The One Show. He became a judge on the American network Bravo with Top Chef Masters and will be recording the second series this Autumn for next year.
