Richard wrote, produced and directed three films exploring various aspects of modern Catholicism.

The first film explores life in one of the only Roman Catholic seminaries in Britain. The second film focuses on a tiny Roman Catholic primary school with only 33 children, as a small group prepare to take holy communion for the first time. The final film explores how various women's lives have been shaped by Catholicism.
