Robin was born in Birmingham and educated at Cambridge. His first play, Bear Hug, won the Royal Court Young Writer’s Festival and was produced at the Royal Court in 2004, where it earned an extended run. He is currently writer in residence for The Birmingham Rep, and under commission to The Royal Court. His version of Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler, Heather Gardner, will be produced by The Birmingham Rep in March 2013.
Robin has twice been chosen (2006 and 2008) as a Broadcast Hotshot - a pick of young talent to watch. Robin's short film script Crocodile recently won production funding from BFI Shorts 2012. It will be filming in March 2013, directed by Gaelle Denis.
As well, as developing solo film projects, Robin often writes film and television with
Kieron Quirke, including thirteen part US sitcom series
Roommates (ABC Family in 2009) and eight part mystery drama
Trinity (ITV2 in 2009).
Their hit sitcom
Cuckoo, starring Greg Davies, Andy Samberg and Helen Baxendale, began in September 2012 and was BBC3's highest ever comedy launch.
