Biography

Robin was born in Birmingham and educated at Cambridge. His first play, Bear Hug, won the Royal Court Young Writer’s Festival and was produced at the Royal Court in 2004, where it earned an extended run. He is currently writer in residence for The Birmingham Rep, and under commission to The Royal Court.

Robin has twice been chosen (2006 and 2008) as a Broadcast Hotshot - a pick of young talent to watch. Robin's short film script Crocodile recently won production funding from BFI Shorts 2012. It will be filming in March 2013, directed by Gaelle Denis. Robin is currently writing a feature film Lust for Life for Altered Image Films about David Bowie and Iggy Pop.

As well, as developing solo film projects, Robin often writes film and television with Kieron Quirke, their hit sitcom Cuckoo, starring Greg Davies and Andy Samberg began in September 2012 and was BBC3's highest ever comedy launch.

Together Robin and Kieron have written comedy and drama on both sides of the pond including thirteen part US sitcom series Roommates (ABC Family in 2009) and eight part mystery drama Trinity (ITV2 in 2009).
