Rory McGrath begins his Pub Dig
April 03, 2012
Rory McGrath explores the history of some of Britain's oldest public houses in his brand new series,
Pub Dig, which kicks off on Channel 5 on April 3rd at 8pm.
Rory is joined by biker and archaeologist Paul Blinkhorn to uncover the untold histories of some of Britain's oldest pubs. Rooting around in the grounds to see what they can turn up, serious archaeology will no doubt be punctuated with the occasional pint or two along the way. The first episode will see Rory and Paul begin their pub dig journey at the Command House pub in Chatham, Kent, digging through 400 years of naval history in search of Henry VIII’s lost Tudor docks and relics from the time of Nelson and the British Empire.
Pub Dig will air on Tuesday nights on Channel 5 at 8pm. For more information see the
Pub Dig homepage.
