Simon Burt grew up in Wakefield and moved to London to be part of the Royal Court Young Writers Group.
Simon's first play Untouchable premiered at the Bush theatre. Writing in The Independent, Paul Taylor wrote "this is a very promising young writer with a sense of humour who can write good dialogue and get under the skin of real young people."
Subsequently, Bottle Universe also opened at the Bush. "It's good to find a dramatist who not only writes deft dialogue but takes a romantic view of love..." (The Times).
Simon is currently writing a new play and developing several original projects for television.
