China Moo-Young first trained at The National Youth Theatre, before going on to study Drama at Bristol University, graduating with a First Class Honours BA in Film, Theatre and TV. She then worked as a Director's Assistant and Creative Researcher - sourcing photography, films, art, and music - for top production companies and advertising agencies on many award-winning campaigns. In 2005, China wrote and directed her first short film Liar. Her second short, Juvenile was made with the support of the UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund - she then went on to direct Emo for Channel 4's Coming Up season. China was named 'Star of Tomorrow' in Screen International's annual review of British film-making talent and was also recently selected as a 'Breakthrough Brit' on the prestigious UKFC programme which recognises the brightest of Britain's young film-making talent.
