RTS Award Nominations

The Inbetweeners - Written by Iain Morris & Damon Beesley

The RTS Award nominations have been announced with multiple nominations for Miranda, The Inbetweeners and The Thick of It.

 

Cast Offs, the groundbreaking show for Channel 4 has also been nominated along with 1066, MicroMen, Horrible Histories and MI High.

 

Miranda, Miranda Hart's comedy series for BBC 2 has been nominated as Best Scripted Comedy and Miranda has been nominated in the Best Writer for Comedy category. She has also been nominated for the Best Comedy Performance.

 

The Thick of It, co-written by Tony Roche has been nominated for Best Scripted Comedy and Peter Capaldi has been nominated for his performance as arch-spin doctor Malcolm Tucker.  Tony also co-wrote the acclaimed show Cast Offs which has been nominated in the Best Drama Category, the fictional-reality show followed six disabled people ship wrecked on an island and was directed in part by Amanda Boyle.

 

Peter Harness's docudrama 1066 has also been nominated in the Best History Programme Category.

 

Iain Morris and Damon Beesley have been nominated for Best Writer for Comedy and Best Scripted Comedy for The Inbetweeners, E4's hit comedy.

 

Micromen, written by Tony Saint about the rise of the ZX Spectrum Computer has been nominated in the Best Multi-Channel Show.

 

Miniature spy show MI High was nominated in the Best Children's Drama section and Ben Ward is one of the lead writers on the hit show for BBC 1.


Horrible Histories
has also been nominated for Best Children's Programme, the show is directed by Chloe Thomas and written by in part by Ben Ward and Gerard Foster.

The winners will be announced on 16th March 2010.
