BAFTA nominations announced

John le Carré's Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy leads BAFTA nominees with 11 nominations including Best Film, Outstanding British Film and Best Leading Actor for Gary Oldman's portrayal of George Smiley.
Drive, written by Hossein Amini, is also in the running for Best Film alongside The Artist which pips Tinker Tailor to the post of most nominations with 12 categories.
Will Sharpe is also nominated for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director for his film Black Pond in which he also stars.
Abuelas, a short animation about the
Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo, written by Francesca Gardiner, is also nominated for Best Short Animation.
Stephen Fry will host the BAFTAs, which will be held on February 12th at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
