Tom, Henry, Craig and Jessica are New Generation
August 16, 2011
Tom Sturridge, Jessica Barden, Craig Roberts and Henry Lloyd-Hughes have all been named in The Independent's list of ten actors dubbed “the new generation of British screen talent.”
Tom is described as having “a sinewy strength...that comes on like a coiled spring” and stars in the forthcoming Junkhearts, written by Simon Frank and directed by Tinge Krishnan, before leading Walter Salles’ highly anticipated screen adaptation of On The Road.
Jessica, who followed Stephen Frear’s Tamara Drewe with Joe Wright’s Hanna - written by David Farr, is dubbed “deliciously appealing,” before the article goes on to say, “it’ll be fascinating to watch her flourish.”
Craig also makes the list, in which his performance in the acclaimed Submarine is labelled “one of the stand-out turns of the year” before being compared to Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate.
Henry is described as a “chameleon” owing to his hugely contrasting characters in the Inbetweeners movie, Miliband of Brothers and Weekender, the tale of two Mancunian ravers in the 80s. “Anyone that can play David Miliband, The Inbetweeners school bully Mark Donovan and a Greek shipping heir (in Laura Wade’s Royal Court-stage Posh) clearly has a future.”
