Tom is the new Spider-Man for Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.

He will soon be seen in the new Ron Howard feature In the Heart of the Sea having recently appeared in thriller Locke starring Tom Hardy and Company Picture's Wolf Hall earlier this year. He has recently finished filming the features BackcountryPilgrimage and Lost City of Z.

Previously Tom filmed the role of Issac in Kevin MacDonald's How I Live Now having previously starred as Lucas in the feature film The Impossible directed by J.A Bayona. The film, starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, is based on a family's true story during the tsunami which hit the coast of Thailand in 2004. Prior to being cast in the role, Tom had been performing as Billy in the West End smash hit, Billy Elliot, directed by Stephen Daldry.

For his performance in The Impossible, Tom was the recipient of the 'Hollywood Spotlight Award', the winner of the National Board of Review 'Breakthrough Actor' Award, 'Best Youth Performance' in Nevada Critics’ Awards and the Empire Awards 'Best Male Newcomer'.

Nominations that Tom has received include Critics' Choice Movie Awards for 'Best Young Actor/Actress', both the Washington DC and Chicago Film Critics Association Awards 2012 for 'Most Promising Performer', the 27th Goya Awards for 'Best New Actor' and the London Film Critics Circle Awards for 'Young British Performer of the Year'.

Tom was also featured in Screen International’s UK 'Stars of Tomorrow – 2012' and in Variety’s 'Youth Impact Report 2012' and was announced as a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit 2013.

The child performers are uncanny and there is an especially terrific performance from Tom Holland as the resourceful, levelheaded Lucas terrified but tenacious in the face of an unspeakable ordeal.
