Young talent leads in Young Vic's revival of The Changeling
February 02, 2012
Alex Beckett,
Kobna Holdbrook-Smith and
Henry Lloyd-Hughes feature in a cast of exciting young talent in The Young Vic's new production of Thomas Middleton and William Rowley's Jacobean tragedy,
The Changeling.
The darkly comic tale of sex, love and panic tells the story of Beatrice-Joanna, a young woman who discovers that there are more precious things to lose than money and jewels.
Kobna, who recently appeared as Ryan in
Channel 4’s Sirens, plays Alsemero, a youth intent on winning Beatrice’s heart while Alex portrays his best friend Jasperino - who decides to seduce the beautiful Daiphanta – but both soon end up with more than they bargained for.
Henry Lloyd-Hughes takes on two roles, performing as both the proud nobleman Lord Tomazo and Antonio the eponymous ‘changeling’ after whom the play is named.
The Changeling runs at The Young Vic Theatre until the 25 February 2012. For tickets and information visit
