A graduate of Cornell and Harvard, Alan Krueger (1960-2019) was the Bendheim Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton. He served as the Chief Economist of the US Department of Labour (1994-1995) and as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy (2009-2010). He was unanimously confirmed by the US Senate as Chairman of President Obama's Council of Economic Advisors in November 2011, and served as Chairman until August 2013.
