Screenwriter for film and television

Henry was formerly film editor of a national newspaper and sold several screenplays during his years as a journalist. Now he’s a screenwriter for film and television with a special interest in true stories, novel adaptations and comedy. 

He wrote the $20 million historical drama Born A King (2019) which opened at number one at the box office across the Gulf and Middle East, enjoying rave reviews. Based on true events and set in Arabia and the UK in 1919, the film is directed by multiple Goya-winner Agustí Villaronga and stars Ed Skrein, Hermione Corfield, Kenneth Cranham, Laurence Fox, James Fleet, Sam Adewunmi, Celyn Jones and Abdullah Ali. It premiered at the Barcelona-Sant Jordi International Film Festival on April 27 2019. Produced by Andres Vicente Gomez and Stuart Sutherland.

With Crispian Mills he co-wrote Slaughterhouse Rulez (2018), a comedy-horror set in a British boarding school. The debut production from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Stolen Picture, it stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Michael Sheen, Margot Robbie, Finn Cole, Asa Butterfield, and Hermione Corfield. Produced by Catalyst Global Media with Sony International and Stolen Picture. Directed by Crispian Mills, it released nationwide in the UK on October 31 2018 and in the United States on May 17 2019.

His future projects include several for film and television with Crispian Mills and a romantic comedy with director Oliver Parker.

Henry has a degree in Modern History from Oxford University.
