Writer and Director for Film and Television

Ian Barnes is an Oscar nominated director and writer who has worked across drama and comedy for all of the major channels. His short film Wish143 was nominated for an Oscar at the 83rd Academy Awards as well as winning at Palm Springs, Rushes Soho Shorts and The British Independent Film Festival.  

His most recent work has included three episodes of the hugely popular Channel 4 drama Skins for Company Pictures, the Tiger Aspect/SKY comedy Mount Pleasant which received an RTS nomination in 2014 and 2nd unit director on the feature Molly Moon for Amber Entertainment. 

Ian’s past work on Casualty has also been nominated for two television BAFTAs.

Ian is working on his debut feature Cherry as writer/director and he is also developing a half hour comedy called Prepper.
