After majoring in environmental biology, Isabelle Bauthian was briefly involved in science communication but soon had her first book, Effleurés (art by Sylvain Limousi), published by Dargaud Editions. She then wrote five fantasy and science-fiction novels and a variety of comics and graphic novels that rely on a combination of colourful characters and timeless sociological issues. She also works as a translator and, sometimes, for magazines and audiovisual productions. A science and literature enthusiast, she hopes to reconcile rationality and emotion in her work.

Her novel Grish-Mère won the Elbakin Award for Best Fantasy Novel of 2019.
