James Campbell is the author of The Art of Winnie- the-Pooh and Shepard’s War, which told the story of E. H. Shepard’s experiences during the First World War through his own artwork that had lain undiscovered for nearly a century. He has been responsible for the oversight of E. H. Shepard’s artistic and literary estate since 2010. He is married to E. H. Shepard's only great-granddaughter and lives in Oxford.

The Art of Winnie-the-Pooh brings together more than 150 images, 80 of which have never been seen or published before, from archives of Shepard’s work.
