Kate Wickers is a British freelance journalist, travel and fiction writer, who has clocked up visits to 57 countries through the course of her career. Her work includes travel, culture and lifestyle features for many British and international publications, including The Telegraph, The i, The Scotsman, The Australian, Islands, The Globe & Mail and Rough Guide guidebooks. Kate’s travel writing is on the syllabus for both English and Media BA students at the University of Virginia in the Travel Writing module: 'The Best Contemporary Travel Writers'. Her photographs have appeared in publications such as Conde Nast Traveller and The Garden.

Kate’s interests lie in the changing aspects of human relationships in an increasingly isolated society. Life’s sliding doors remain her particular fascination as she works on her debut novel.
