An award-winning novelist and script writer.

Laura has worked in television since 2004 and has combined writing with her day job since then. In 2012 she won the Marie Claire 'Inspire and Mentor Award' for novel writing and was subsequently mentored by Jane Fallon. Her novel The Joy of Depression was released in 2014. Her children's book The Forgotten Island has been read as a school class book in both the UK and Australia. 

In 2014, Laura went freelance and since then has been developing numerous scripts and short films whilst also writing for television shows such as EastEnders (BBC One), Newzoids (ITV), Comic Relief (BBC One) and Class Dismissed (CBBC). Laura’s work has also featured on Newsjack and The Now Show for BBC Radio 4.
