Award-winning author Roger Longrigg wrote under eight separate pseudonyms over the course of his career, generating 55 novels in a variety of genres. Having worked in the advertising sector, Longrigg chose in 1959 to give up his career to become a full time writer.

His experiences in advertising fomed the basis of his first novel, A High-Pitched Buzz, published in 1956, and his writing became increasingly varied as each of his noms de plume was invented. In his career, he wrote under the names Laura Black, Rosalind Erskine, Ivor Drummond, Megan Barker, Grania Beckford, Frank Parrish, Domini Taylor and his own until his death in 2000.
