Carolan
Stuart Carolan is an Irish playwright and screenwriter who started out as a producer for television and radio.
Stuart's first play, Defender of the Faith, won the George Devine award when it premiered at the Abbey Theatre in 2004, after which Stuart went on to write commissions for the National Theatre and the Druid Theatre in Dublin.
In 2008 Stuart turned to television writing, winning an IFTA nomination for his RTE project Little White Lies. He has since worked on a number of successful series, including RTE's fast paced kitchen drama Raw and five series of the award-winning Love/Hate. Set in Dublin's violent underworld the series has been the most successful TV drama in Ireland's history and Stuart has won the IFTA for Best TV Writer for four consecutive years.
Most recently Stuart acted as showrunner on series two of The Alienist for TNT, titled Angel Of Darkness. Stuart is currently working on a feature adaptation of Paul Murray's novel, Skippy Dies and has several other projects in active development.
