Alison Gaylin wins Edgar Award

Alison Gaylin has been awarded Best Paperback Original at The Edgar Awards 2019 for If I Die Tonight. Honouring the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction and television published or produced in 2018, The Edgar Awards are widely acknowledged to be the most prestigious awards in the genre and are annually presented by the Mystery Writers of America.

If I Die Tonight follows mother, Jackie Reed, who once knew her sons better than anyone. She used to be able to tell what they were thinking, feeling, if they were lying… So when one of her son’s classmates is killed in suspicious circumstances, people start asking questions.

Was it really a hit and run? A car-jacking gone wrong? Or something much more sinister?

‘In this moving character-driven standalone...the novel’s lasting impact comes from its indelible portrait of people in crisis’
