Kensington Palace has announced on Twitter that London-based pastry chef, Claire Ptak, will create the Wedding Cake for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding on May 19th at Windsor Castle. The Royal couple have asked her to create a ‘lemon and elderflower cake incorporating the bright flavours of spring’, decorated in buttercream and fresh flowers.
Before opening her East-London café, Violet Bakery, in 2010, Claire started out from a stall on Broadway Market, selling cakes that focus on ‘using seasonal and
organic ingredients’. She was also previously interviewed by Meghan Markle for her former lifestyle website The Tig.
Along with running her bakery-café, Claire is a food writer, food and prop stylist, recipe developer and consultant.
