George Clooney to direct and star in Catch 22 TV miniseries

Joseph Heller's 1961 classic novel Catch-22 is to be adapted for TV by Paramount TV and Anonymous Content as a six-episode limited series. George Clooney is attached to direct and to star in the role of Colonel Cathcart, in his first television role since he left ER in the early 1990s. Clooney will also executive produce under his venture Smokehouse Pictures. 

Catch-22 was adapted as a film in 1970 and starred Alan Arkin as Captain Yossarian and Martin Balsam as Colonel Cathcart.
