Cosmo's 'Hottest Reads' for February

Jojo Moyes, Sarra Manning, Harriet Evans, Jennifer E. Smith and Sue Townsend have been selected as part of Cosmopolitan’s 12 ‘hottest reads’ for February.

Making their selection from a ‘bumper’ crop of new books, Cosmo has put together a list of the most enjoyable, entertaining and thought provoking commercial books on the market.

Me Before You from Jojo Moyes has enjoyed early success after its publication in January by Penguin. Described in the Cosmo roundup as ‘moving, gripping and funny’, this heartbreaking story of an unlikely couple has been picked for Richard and Judy’s Spring 2012 Book Club.

Sarra Manning’s Nine Uses for an Ex-Boyfriend (Transworld) is ‘perfect for all those who’ve ever had to deal with the dilemma of giving up or moving on.’ Contributing regularly to fashion magazines like Elle, Grazia and Red, Sarah is a great choice for magazine lovers.

The latest offering from Sunday Times bestselling author Harriet Evans is Happily Ever After, published by HarperCollins. ‘Perfect for book-lovers,’ this is a novel about the highs and lows of the publishing world. An ultimately optimistic book, Cosmo describes it as ‘an absolute-must read’ if you’re feeling uninspired.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight (Little Brown) is Jennifer E. Smith’s third young adult novel. A 24 hour whirlwind romance on a plane journey from New York to London leaves you rooting for the two young lovers. Described by Look Magazine as ‘the new One Day’, Cosmo’s pick will move and delight its readers.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Adrian Mole this year, Sue Townsend’s latest novel, The Woman who Went to Bed for a Year (Penguin) confirms her position as one of Britain’s best comic writers. A long-suffering wife and mother, Eva gets into bed and leaves everyone to their own devices in this hilarious tale about family appreciation.
