Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch chosen as one of the 25 best books of the year by Le Point

Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch has been chosen as one of the 25 best books of the year by the French weekly magazine Le Point. The Goldfinch was also chosen as one of French literary magazine Lire’s top 20 books of the year.

Thomas Mahler of Le Point described The Goldfinch as “A novel paced like a thriller and perfected like a master painting”.

The Goldfinch is Donna Tartt’s third novel and since its publication in October 2013, spent 52 consecutive weeks on The New York Times bestseller list, been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the Andrew Carnegie Award for Excellence in Fiction. It has been shortlisted for the Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction (formerly the Orange Prize) and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. The novel was also awarded Italy's Malaparte Prize.
