Double win for Ross MacKenzie

Ross MacKenzie has been awarded a Scottish Children's Book Award and a Blue Peter Book Award

MacKenzie’s book The Nowhere Emporium was chosen as the winner in the Younger Readers (8-11) category of The Scottish Children’s Book Award 2016, Scotland’s largest book prize for children’s authors and illustrators, as chosen by children all over the country. It was also awarded a Blue Peter Book Award 2016 in the Best Story Category, as voted by schoolchildren all over the UK. He was presented with the prize by Chris Riddle, current Children’s Laureate.

When the mysterious Nowhere Emporium arrives in Glasgow, orphan Daniel Holmes stumbles upon it quite by accident. Before long, the 'shop from nowhere' - and its owner, Mr Silver - draw Daniel into a breathtaking world of magic and enchantment.

Ross MacKenzie is the author of fantasy adventure, Zac and the Dream Pirates, winner of a Scottish Children's Book Award in 2012.
