Jane Harper wins Davitt Award for Third Consecutive Year

Jane Harper has walked away with the Readers’ Choice Award at the 19th Davitt Awards for her novel The Lost Man. This is the third time that Harper has won the award after her first and second novels, The Dry and Force of Nature, won in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

The Lost Man
is centred around a mysterious death in the middle of the unforgiving outback. It was published by Pan MacMillan Australia in 2018.

The Davitt Awards were launched in 2001 by Sisters in Crime to recognise Australian female crime writers and are named after Ellen Davitt, the author of Australia’s first mystery novel, Force and Fraud, in 1865.

Fellow Curtis Brown authors Aoife Clifford and Susi Fox were also shortlisted for awards.
