Jennifer Egan’s Manhattan Beach Longlisted for National Book Awards

Jennifer Egan’s Manhattan Beach has been longlisted for the National Book Awards.

According to the National Book Foundation (NBF), this year publishing houses submitted 394 books for consideration, narrowed down to ten by the judges. Past winners of the prestigious fiction prize include Colson Whitehead for his novel The Underground Railroad, as well as Louise Erdrich in 2012, Denis Johnson in 2007 and Jonathan Franzen in 2001.

The shortlists will be announced on 4th October, while the winners will be chosen at the National Book awards ceremony and benefit dinner on 15th November in New York City. Click here for the full longlist. 

Manhattan Beach will be published in hardback in the UK by Corsair on October 3rd.
