"A Visit from the Goon Squad" selected for Channel 4 Summer Book Club

Jennifer Egan’s A Visit from the Goon Squad has been selected for Channel 4’s TV Book Club this summer. It will be one of eight novels reviewed and discussed during an eight-week series beginning Sunday 26th June on More 4, with repeats on Channel 4.

The series will be presented by Jo Brand, Dave Spikey, Laila Rouass, Ade Edmondson and Meera Syal with Rory McGrath also joining the panel.

A Visit from the Goon Squad follows 13 individuals over fifty years, ranging from the San Francisco 1970s music scene to a post-war future. It has been admired for its innovative form consisting of interlocking stories, including an inventive 70-page PowerPoint chapter. It was recently awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, was longlisted for the Orange Prize, was a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award and has been picked up by HBO for a future TV series.
