No Rules Rules longlisted for FT & McKinsey Business Book of the Year 2020

Reed Hastings and Erin Meyer’s upcoming book, No Rules Rules: Netflix and the Culture of Reinvention, has been shortlisted for the FT & McKinsey Business Book of the Year 2020.

Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, in collaboration with Erin Meyer, reveals for the first time the unorthodox culture behind one of the world's most innovative, imaginative, and successful companies. Drawing on hundreds of interviews with current and past Netflix employees from around the globe and never-before-told stories of trial and error from Hastings’s own career, No Rules Rules is the fascinating and untold account of the philosophy behind one of the world’s most innovative, imaginative, and successful companies.

Set up in 2014, The FT & McKinsey Business Book of the Year award of £30,000 will go to the book that is judged to have provided the most compelling and enjoyable insight into modern business issues and its influence should be “likely to stand the test of time”. From more than 400 entries, Financial Times journalists have helped select a longlist of 15 titles, from which the panel of judges will select a shortlist of six, to be announced on September 23rd. The winner will then be announced on December 1st.
