Piergiorgio Pulixi wins the Italian Scerbanenco Prize 2019

L'isola delle anime by Sardinia-based author Piergiorgio Pulixi won the Premio Giorgio Scerbanenco 2019. Dedicated to one of the fathers of Italian noir, the Scerbanenco is the most prestigious literary prize for crime fiction in Italy and it's awarded every year to an outstanding novel by an Italian author.

Published in Italy by Rizzoli, L'isola delle anime is set in a Sardinia reminiscent of True Detective’s Louisiana, where two policewomen reopen an old investigation into a series of murders which mimic ancient religious rituals. The jury praised in particular the outstanding style, the depiction of the cultural and geographical landscape, and the strong identity of the characters.
