Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith is listed for the CILIP Carnegie Medal

Jennifer E. Smith’s new novel Windfall has been listed for the CILIP Carnegie Medal. The CILIP Carnegie Medal is one of the county’s oldest children’s book awards and has a prestigious list of winners including, Neil Gaimen, Sally Gardener, Patrick Ness, and Philip Pullman. The long and shortlists identify a range of outstanding books for children and young people of all ages and interests, with world-class literature and illustration from new and established authors and illustrators. 121 books have been nominated this year and all entries are read by 12 children’s and youth librarians from CILIP’s Youth Libraries Group who make up the judging panel.

Jennifer E. Smith is the author of a number of YA tiles including, The Comeback Season and You are Here. Her novel, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight has been translated into nearly 30 languages. Jennifer earned her master's in creative writing from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and currently works as a senior editor in New York City.
